WHAT HAPPENED?
Jota was killed in a car crash on Thursday and players from both sides paused ahead of the game to remember the Portugal international, who was just 28 years old and got married a matter of days ago.

The moment was particularly moving for Portugal internationals Joao Cancelo and Ruben Neves, both of whom lined up for Al-Hilal. The pair played with Jota on several occasions for the national team, including most recently for Neves at the Nations League finals in June.

WHAT NEXT FOR THE CLUB WORLD CUP?
A minute's silence was held ahead of Chelsea vs Palmeiras later on Friday night, while there will also be one ahead of Saturday's quarter-finals, where Paris Saint-Germain face Bayern Munich and Real Madrid play Borussia Dortmund.
